What happened

Free-agent WR Stefon Diggs is signing a one-year deal with the Washington Commanders worth more than $10 million and up to $12 million, according to multiple reports including NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Maryland native and former Maryland Terrapin returns near home after being released by the New England Patriots earlier in the offseason. Diggs recorded 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns in 2025 while helping the Patriots reach Super Bowl LX. He joins a receiving group led by Terry McLaurin, with the previous depth options behind him including Treylon Burks, Luke McCaffrey, and rookie Antonio Williams.

Fantasy impact

Diggs immediately becomes a viable WR2/flex target in fantasy drafts with a clear path to significant targets in an improving Jayden Daniels-led offense. Managers who had him falling due to free-agency uncertainty can now lock in a proven producer with upside in a favorable situation. Monitor his early-camp integration, but the landing spot boosts his draft-day value.
