Raiders TE Michael Mayer Leaves Practice with Nose Injury
Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer left Monday's padded practice with a nose injury, but head coach Klint Kubiak said he will be alright.
What happened
Michael Mayer busted his nose open during the first practice in pads and was forced to leave early. Kubiak confirmed the injury after practice and expressed confidence that Mayer would be fine. Mayer is in a contract year and is expected to play a significant role in two-tight-end sets alongside Brock Bowers.
Fantasy impact
The injury appears minor and should not impact Mayer's standing as the primary backup tight end. Fantasy managers in deeper formats or TE-premium leagues can continue viewing him as a low-end TE2 or handcuff option once he returns to full participation.
