Falcons EDGE Jalon Walker Suffers Torn ACL, Will Miss 2026 Season
Second-year pass rusher Jalon Walker tore his ACL during Tuesday’s practice and is expected to miss the entire 2026 season after confirmatory testing.
What happened
During a two-minute drill late in Tuesday’s (August 4) practice, Falcons outside linebacker Jalon Walker went down with a leg injury and was carted off the field. Initial reports indicated a feared ACL tear. On Wednesday morning, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that tests confirmed the torn ACL. The team announced Walker will miss the 2026 season. The 2025 first-round pick recorded 5.5 sacks as a rookie.
Fantasy impact
Walker’s absence primarily affects IDP leagues, where he carried breakout potential as a high-upside edge. In standard fantasy formats the impact is limited, though Atlanta’s pass-rush depth takes a significant hit. Fantasy managers in IDP formats should look for replacement edge options and monitor how the Falcons adjust their defensive rotation.
